CAPOBIANCO PSYCHIATRY & TMS

MEDICATION-MANAGEMENT, TALK THERAPY & NON-INVASIVE THERAPEUTIC TECHNOLOGY

Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatry | Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Board Certified in Child & Adolescent | Board Certified in Adult

From Dr. Capobianco:

With the use of therapy and/or medication I can treat you or your child so that impairments can be identified and the ability to function more easily is achieved.

My training allows me to diagnose and give treatment recommendations based on my assessment which consists of an evaluation gathering personal history, psychosocial and environmental stressors, and symptom review. I can help you understand the diagnosis and determine the cause of the difficulty with the use of medication or psychotherapy.

About Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Additionally I offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy via our new Neurostar TMS machine. TMS is a non-invasive therapeutic option that applies magnetic impulses that stimulate nerve cells in areas of the brain corresponding to the disorder, over the course of a series of treatments, using our NeuroStar Advanced Therapy TMS Machine.

TMS is FDA approved for depression, anxious-depression and OCD.

TMS is twice as effective at improving depression symptoms than antidepressant medications and talk therapy (while these therapeutic methods are also successful).

TMS is a treatment option for patients suffering from depressive episodes and is shown to successfully decrease anxiety symptoms – for those who have failed to find relief from medications.

Depressed Brain

An option for when antidepressants do not work for you.

Or, maybe the side effects were just that intolerable for you.

We understand and want to helpthat is why in 2023 we partnered with NeuroStar Advanced Therapy to utilize the newest non-invasive and innovative technology, advancing our ability to treat mental health.

TMS is like physical therapy for the brain. It uses magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive areas of the brain that control depression.

Treatment sessions are done in our office and are less than 19 minutes per day. You are awake the entire time and can return to normal activities right away.

NeuroStar has very few side effects – unlike 86% of SSRI medication treating depression.

83% of patients experience improvement in depression symptoms and 62% experience symptom relief, or complete remission.

Treatments for Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety take 36 days of consecutive sessions. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder treatments take 29 daily sessions.

NeuroStar is the #1 TMS choice of doctors, with over 4.3 million treatments performed to date.

During each session, a cushioned coil is precisely placed against your head while magnetic pulses deliver the therapy to the correct location that regulates mood in your brain.

You may feel a tapping, tingling, or warming sensation where the coil is positioned. This is temporary and typically subsides with subsequent treatments.
